Hi Friends! As a child, I remember picking pecans and walnuts from my Peepaw and Meemaw's trees, cracking them and enjoying them right out of the shell. Since I do not have those trees in such close reach, I decided to take on an easy and delicious way of enjoying pecans with a little extra spice! Let's dive right into this recipe!
Hi friends! Because I had so many apples in the kitchen this week, I decided to finish them off with this delicious vegan maple apple pie! I wanted to create a recipe that had an edge and stood out from the regular ole' apple pie recipe...so I went with a vegan and maple theme! Excited?! Yes?! Let's dive on into this recipe!
Hope your week is going great so far! I know mine is, and I am super excited to share with you my own simple take on drunk cider! Juice+rum= a good time!
There are different ways of making the perfect cider, but I am going to show you guys the easiest way to create a delicious drunken cider! Also, please know that this recipe is delicious without the rum too! Create a virgin cider or a drunken cider, either way it will not disappoint!
1 gallon jug of Organic Apple Juice
1 1/2 Tsp. of Cinnamon
3/4 Tsp. of Nutmeg
3 Tbsp. of Fresh Lemon Juice
1 1/2 cup of Don Q Cristal Rum (add to taste)
2-3 thinly sliced Apples for a garnish
A sprinkle of cinnamon to top it off
Take a large pot and set the stove to low/medium heat. Add the apple juice, spices, lemon juice and rum then stir. Continue to stir frequently while the mixture is heating so the spices blend well with the liquids. After the mixture reaches a hot temperature and the spices have blended well, turn off the stove and let it cool to a temperature that you feel most comfortable to drink.
Take your thinly sliced apples and cut a little slit to make a wedge for the rim of your glass. Add a sprinkle of cinnamon and your set! Enjoy!
*Also, if you are like me and enjoy a cold toddy as well, let the mixture cool to room temperature and pour it over some ice, add the apple slices on the rim and cinnamon in the glass and wallah! You've got yourself a refreshing drunk cider! Enjoy Casa de Góngora friends, and please remember to drink responsibly*
